You know the old saying,"Give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish, and he eats for a lifetime."
I'm not sure that's true-- I think it depends on how you teach him. Let me suggest:
"...Teach a man to fish BY GOING FISHING WITH HIM, and THEN he'll eat for a lifetime."
Seminars and workshops are great, and sometimes a concentrated dose of information and classroom exercises is enough to convey important new information and establish basic skills-- even for critical applications. But when you're trying to catch the "big ones," there's nothing like learning by doing-- especially with an experienced guide who know the waters, and has even reeled in a couple of “monsters” himself.
